🚒 Wow, talk about a family affair! 🔥 The OC Dispatch just gave a big shout-out to Captain Greg Dypsky of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company. This guy's got firefighting in his blood! His dad's a Gold Badge Member, his mom is in the Ladies Auxiliary, and his great-grandpa was an early president of the OCVFC. Talk about a legacy! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

🌊 Greg's journey is like a thrilling ride on a fire truck! 🚛 He started as a cadet, became a full-fledged firefighter, and even spent 31 years with the DC Fire Department. Now he's back home, serving his community with the same passion as his ancestors. From lieutenant to Board member to vice president, Greg's done it all! 💪

🎓 Captain Dypsky's not just about fighting fires; he's all about sharing knowledge too! 📚 He believes in continuous learning and passing on his wisdom to the next generation. His advice? "Never stop learning, because the fire service is always evolving!" Now that's some hot advice! 🔥 Hats off to Greg and his family for their incredible service to Ocean City! 🎉👏

Let's set sail on a journey through time to the legendary Ocean City Boat Parade! 🕰️🌊 

🐟 Every third Sunday in June, the waters sparkled with excitement as the marlin season kicked off in style! Since 1938, boats of all stripes dolled up in fabulous flags and bunting, vying for the shiny silver bowl. 🏆 It was like a floating fashion show, with charter boats, fishing vessels, and pleasure crafts strutting their nautical stuff! 🎏✨

🚢 Thousands of spectators lined the shore, oohing and aahing as the parade sailed through the Inlet, past the judges on the Fishing Pier, and up the coast for three miles. 👀 Then, with a graceful turn, they'd cruise back, always keeping a cool 50 yards offshore. What a sight! 🌅 Though this groovy gathering docked for good in the early 1970s, it left a treasure trove of memories that still make waves in Ocean City lore! 🌊🎭
