🌊This week, the Fish On crew got a huge shoutout for catching the first white marlin of 2024! 🎣 On Monday, angler Jake Emche snagged a sweet $5,000 prize from the Mayor and Council for reeling in the season's first white marlin on June 1st, 25 miles east of the Baltimore Canyon. 🌟 Mayor Rick Meehan called it a big deal, reminding everyone that we're in the white marlin capital of the world! 🌎

Every summer, there's a $5,000 prize up for grabs for the first white marlin catch, and despite almost being cut from the budget a few years back, the fishing community's love for the tradition kept it alive. 🛥️ During the check presentation, Jake gave major props to Captain Andrew Dotterweich for leading the charge. "We usually fish for tuna, but this year, the stars aligned. Andrew found a hungry marlin, and I got lucky!" 🌟

Jake also thanked the Mayor and Council for keeping the tradition alive, saying, "It's a super cool way to start the summer for the fishing community." 🌞 So, here's to more exciting catches and an unforgettable summer ahead! 🏖️🎉

🌊 Ahoy, beach lovers! 🏖️ Last Friday, June 28th as the clock struck 4, our cool beach town welcomed a majestic visitor from the past. The Spanish tall ship Nao Trinidad gracefully sailed through the drawbridge and into Assawoman Bay, bringing with her the salty breeze of adventure! 🌴⛵

🏴‍☠️ Weighing in at a whopping 200 tons, this beauty will be anchoring at Third Street Park for two sun-soaked months. For just a few doubloons, you can step aboard and live out your pirate fantasies! 🦜 Imagine yourself as a 16th-century captain, steering this 100-foot long replica through stormy seas. With four masts, five sails, and five decks, she's a true floating museum that'll transport you back in time faster than you can say "shiver me timbers!" 🕰️

🌍 The Nao Trinidad isn't just any old ship - she's a piece of history come to life! 🧭 As a replica of Ferdinand Magellan's flagship from his epic round-the-world voyage, she's sailed to ports across the globe, spreading the tale of Spain's maritime heritage. So grab your sense of adventure and a ticket to a high-seas history lesson!
