After a recent storm 🌊💨, Caleb Miller from Bishopville MD stumbled upon an unexpected visitor on the OC beach near 15th Street 😮. At first, Caleb thought it was a black and white ball being tossed around by the waves, but to his surprise, it was a tiny Arctic dovekie! 🐧

With some quick thinking and a lot of kindness 💡💖, Caleb and his family dried off the little bird and kept it warm. After a bit of TLC 🤗, the dovekie was back on its feet and ready to take flight, returning to its life in the sky 🌤️.

What makes this rescue so special? Dovekies are usually far from land, living their best lives in the northern Atlantic Ocean 🌊🌎. This rare encounter turned into a memorable and heartwarming experience for the Miller family, reminding us all of the impact a little kindness can have 🥰.

Did you know Ocean City wasn't always a beach town? 🏖️😮 Back in the late 1800s, it started as a small fishing village on a sandy barrier island! 🐟

Picture this: salty sea dogs casting their nets 🎣, weathered wooden boats bobbing in the waves 🚣‍♂️, and the smell of their fresh catch filling the air 🐠👃

Before it became a hotspot for sunbathers and surfers 🏄‍♀️☀️, Ocean City was home to hardy fishing families who braved the Atlantic to bring in the day's haul. The first settler, Isaac Coffin ⚓, planted his flag here in 1869, probably thinking, "This looks like a great spot to catch some fish!" 🤔🎣

Little did old Isaac know that his quiet fishing village would transform into the "White Marlin Capital of the World" 🏆 and a bustling beach town for generations to come!
