🌟 Vrroom vrroom, wish-granters! 🚗💨 

This past Wednesday, our Worcester County, Maryland chapter of The Twilight Wish Foundation put the pedal to the metal for Lester (80) and Chauncey (70)!

These two car-crazy compadres from Worcester County Developmental Center got their engines revving when:

🚗 Lester (our 80-year-old car enthusiast 📚) and Chauncey (70, with a driver's heart 🚦) typically indulge their passion at the Cruisin' Ocean City car show. There, they admire and explore the classic hot rods, soaking in every shiny detail! 😍🏎️

But this time, the show came to them! 🏠🚗

Enter our hero: Ronnie Young, president of Ocean City Cruzers Car Club, vrooming in with his 1929 Ford Roadster! 🦸‍♂️🚗💨

Lester took the ride of his life 🚙, while Chauncey played it cool 😎, preferring to admire from afar and shake hands with Ronnie. 🤝

A turbocharged THANK YOU 🙏💯 to Ronnie for making these gents' dreams come true faster than you can say "0 to 60"! 🏎️💨

OC Tidal Trivia

Did you know that our beloved beach town once had a secret superpower? 🦸‍♀️ Trains! 🚉

From 1876 to 1933, Ocean City was the cool kid on the block with its very own choo-choo connection! 😎 Imagine wooden bridges carrying passengers and goodies right into the heart of the action at South Division Street. Talk about a grand entrance! 🌟

Picture this: It's a scorching summer day in the 1920s, and up to EIGHT excursion trains are rolling into town! 😮 Beachgoers would splash and play for four fabulous hours before riding the rails back home. It's like the 19th-century version of a day trip! 🏄‍♂️🕰️

But alas, all good things must come to an end. 😢 On August 23, 1933, Mother Nature threw a tantrum (aka a hurricane 🌪️) and the railroad bridge was history, along with Ocean City's train service.

Now, here's a fun fact to impress your friends: Despite what some folks might tell you, there are NO secret underwater trains hiding in the Ocean City Inlet or Sinepuxent Bay. Sorry, treasure hunters! 🤿🚫🚂
